Ari's Crochet Home

I started crocheting in April of 2022 and made the world's ugliest washcloth. I only cried a few times while I first got started. It is COMPLETELY NORMAL to cry a little bit when you're frustrated, btw.

After my washcloth, which was very uneven as I'd missed stitches, I thought I was good enough to move onto something else. I chose a small daisy granny square pattern. Again, it made me cry a few times but after sleeping on it for one night I remembered immediately how to make them. I then proceeded to make 272 of these small squares and assemble them into a whole plus size cardigan with ribbing. I added images below but I NEVER got a picture of the complete cardigan before it fell apart.

I was really proud of my cardigan for a minute but unfortunately I hadn't crocheted for long enough to know the importance of weaving in ends instead of tying a knot and cutting it at the knot. So my cardigan FELL APART. I cried over that too.

Apparently none of these crying sessions were enough to dissuade me, because I'm still crocheting (and I'm much better at it). I love that I'm able to create garments FOR MY BODY. It's so hard to find plus size clothing that I like and it's really empowering to be able to make anything my heart desires.
